Thesis: The Effects of Metallicity on Type Ia Supernovae. Investigated how the metallicity (amount of metals heavier than helium) of the host galaxy affects the maximum brightness of a Type Ia supernova, a subclass of supernovae. Used the Interactive Data Language (IDL) to test for any correlation between the metallicity of the galaxy and the brightness of the supernova.
