She is a life-long member of the Women Marine Association, and the Marine Corps League. In addition, she is a member of the American Legion.

Stephanie Kifowit and her husband Steve have two children, Sabrina age 10 and Samuel age 6. The family is made complete with Steve's daughter Alexandria and her son William age 2.

While Steve is a life-long resident and graduate of East Aurora High School, the family formally made their home in Aurora 12 years ago. Their children attend public schools in District 131.

Stephanie Kifowit is in her third year as a Substitute Teacher in East Aurora School District 131, in addition to being a Girl Scout Troop leader for over 3 years.

    I have been serving as Third Ward Alderman in the City of Aurora for the past 5 years. In my re-election in 2007; I won with 72% of the vote. I serve in a non-partisan part-time position on the Aurora City Council representing a ward with a population of approximately 15,000 residents. Duties include but are not limited to, providing leadership and outreach to the residents of the ward, approving development plans and special use petitions, reviewing the City’s overall $300 million dollar budget, reviewing and approving local ordinances, facilitating neighborhood projects and street repairs, and grant writing for the neighborhood, in addition to maintaining a $580K ward budget to meet the needs of the community.
