Kevin Watson B.Eng.(Systems and Computer Engineering) has 23 years of experience in Real-Time and IT-related product architecture and development. Mr. Watson has both developed on and led numerous projects the private sector. His extensive development and architecture includes 9 years as a lead architect, 8 years as a Team Lead, and 6 years as a Developer in a wide variety of technologies. Many of his former clients include Fortune 500 companies, US military, Canadian government departments, and non-profit organizations.
For the last 13 years, Kevin Watson has worked in Web Technologies. He started working on web based technologies as early as 1996 with a company called ShowBase. ShowBase specialized in publishing databases to the web. After that, he started to work at Simware/NetManage on the Salvo/OnWeb project. This product line specialized in retrieving data from an IBM mainframe or database and exposing it as a web service, HTML pages, Java bean, or J2EE component. NetManage became known as an E-Commerce company allowing their customers to purchase everything from Airfares & Hotels to paperclips across the internet.
Kevin Watson was able to get access to early releases of WebSphere due to Simware’s close working relationship with IBM. Kevin Watson did the first technical competitive analysis for Simware; comparing WebSphere against Simware’s Salvo product line.
Kevin Watson has been a contributing co-author for the second edition of Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 2.0 published by John Wiley and Sons scheduled to be released in 2009.
