Chief Information Officer (CIO) at First Choice Medical Supply
Jackson, Mississippi Area
I have over twenty years broad-based Information Systems/Technology experience with expertise in many communications and ERP systems. Financial and Human Resources controls have required me to quickly understand problems identified by staff and select appropriate resolution, take calculated risks, build consensus on concepts from key decision-makers, and practice relationship-building and communication skills. This has helped me meet budget goals for balancing Capital and SG&A expense dollars, balance multiple projects with competing priorities, and manage teams in environments of constant change. I have familiarity with most hardware, applications, and operating systems; unquestioned personal integrity; and the ability to handle sensitive/highly confidential issues in a tactful and diplomatic way. These strengths allow me to maintain close communications and working relations with my employees, customers, management, and vendors and always reach low-cost, high-return solutions.
I worked for LDDS/WorldCom - led by Bernie Ebbers. Then, to enter the Healthcare Distribution industry as CIO for FirstChoiceMedicalSupply, I contracted with HMA, where I architected/administered a HIPAA-secure communications infrastructure and became familiar with the technical/financial abilities of the industry's two leading suppliers. I then joined FirstChoice to create/provide the most exciting, dynamic e-Commerce environment the eldercare industry has ever experienced.

I have head coached our two kids' soccer and baseball teams since they started playing sports. Quinn has played 5 seasons of soccer and 3 seasons of baseball, and this is Kacy's 2nd season of soccer. The kids of the teams always learn more of the sport, have a good time, and get a good workout! The YMCA highly appreciates and respects the dad's that coach more than one team per season; they make it as easy as possible.

I developed many extremely valuable skills, while at LDDS/WorldCom, and am honored to have worked eight years for a company led by Bernie Ebbers. Looking for a new long-term home, I prepared for the CIO spot with First Choice Medical Supply by contracting with Health Management Associates for one year, where I architected and administered a HIPAA-secure communications infrastructure and became familiar with the technical and financial abilities of the healthcare industry's two leading suppliers, which would end up being First Choice's biggest sources for new customers - McKesson and Medline. I then joined First Choice as CIO in 2003 to create and provide http://www.fcms.com/services, the most exciting, dynamic e-Commerce environment the eldercare industry has ever experienced.

I left as a SeniorManager, approved by MISVP and HR to be promoted to a JuniorDirector within Corporate Systems. I managed four subdepartments, totalling 92 full-time employees.
I streamlined data processing expenditures, saving the company over 74 million dollars from 1994-2002 - minimizing expenses, reducing administration, increasing security and kept WorldCom as one company, with one face!
I migrated acquired companies, consolidating and then decommissioning their environments, to use the WorldCom Corporate Intranet, Corporate Internet, pre-sales Customer Extranet, e-Mail, Directory Services, Materiel Management, and HR System.
This Consolidate:Decommission model saved us the majority of these 74 million dollars.
I am proud to have worked for a company led by Mr. Bernie Ebbers. And I still own and protect our original Internet domain names: LDDSNET.COM, LDDSCOMMUNICATIONS.COM, BERNARDEBBERS.COM, and BERNARDGEBBERS.COM.

B.S. , Medical Technical/Biological Sciences , 1988 — 1990
Kevin began his Information Technology career with three years technical research for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where he built a computer-based laboratory management environment for parturition physiology research. He networked DOS and Windows286 data-collection clients to a DECVAX minicomputer, which was his data-depository, and then interfaced physiographs, IR spectrophotometers, balances, gas chromatographs, mixers and chillers, thermometers, and variac transformers to the clients. Nearly all testing and data-collection was done, hands-free. He gained experience with data communications and the operations and interfacing of laboratory instruments.
My incredible family - Kim, Quinn, and Kacy. Eating Kim's Fudgies with "100" cold milk. Swimming the 50 meters (s) freestyle in under 25 seconds. Making a smart decision on which new car to buy - when I've past 300,000 miles on my 1992 Honda Accord EX, that is... Oh, yeah, and wresting with Max just before we go to sleep each night.
