Kevin Budelmann’s Summary
Kevin Budelmann is interested in design theory and practice in the context of business, technology, and society.
As co-founder and president of People Design, formerly BBK Studio, an 12-year-old, 20-person communications strategy and design firm in Michigan, Kevin oversees the firm's strategic direction and helps to manage client relationships as designer, strategist, and change catalyst.
Kevin's work at People Design includes serving as a strategic partner to a wide variety of organizations including business and on online services, health care, education, manufacturing, automotive, finance, design, and consumer products, ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
Some of these experience are: interim Chief Product Officer for Spout.com, strategic partner for Herman Miller, Inc., helping to develop their web/information strategy, intranet, public website, and myriad marketing sites, designing Jaguar Cars retail brochures in conjunction with Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, a Knowledge Management intranet and public websites for the Whirlpool Corporation, and communications design strategy and implementation for X-Rite, izzydesign, Cumberland Furniture, izzydesign, Herman Miller for Healthcare, VMF Capital, Spectrum Health, Autocam Corporation, European Living, Davenport University, Alliance for Health, Chrysler Financial, Dow Wire & Cable, and Creative Byline.
Before co-founding People Design, Kevin developed a wide variety of communications programs at Herman Miller Inc and as an independent designer. He has a BFA in Graphic Design from Carnegie Mellon and attended the School for Design in St. Gallen, Switzerland. While a student, he was among the winners of an international design competition sponsored by Apple.

Kevin's professional work has been recognized by numerous design competitions including The New York Art Directors Club, Communication Arts magazine, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, Graphis, the American Center for Design, Print, How, Critique, and Creativity. His work has also been featured various annuals and textbooks on design including Graphis and Encyclopedia Britannica. Kevin was a featured speaker at the A! Desino 2001 International Design Conference in Acapulco, Mexico, the Art Director's Club of Cincinnati, AIGA Detroit, and others. He has served as a design judge for the Art Directors Club of New York’s New Media Competition, the Art Directors Club of Houston’s Annual Show, the Art Director's Club of Cincinnati, the Art Director's Club of Cleveland, and many others.
