Kenneth S. Trump, M.P.A., is the President of National School Safety and Security Services, a Cleveland-based national firm specializing in school security and emergency preparedness training and consulting.

Ken's background includes having served as a school safety officer, investigator, and youth gang unit supervisor for the Cleveland City Schools' safety division. He also served as a suburban Cleveland school security director and assistant gang task force director.

As one of the leading U.S. school safety experts, Ken has 25 years experience in the school safety profession and has worked with school and public safety officials from all 50 states. He has authored two books and over 60 articles on school security and crisis issues. Ken is one of the most widely quoted school safety experts, appearing on all national news networks and cable TV, in top market newspapers nationally and internationally, and on radio news and talk shows around the nation and world.

Ken is a four-time invited Congressional witness testifying on school safety and emergency preparedness issues. Ken testified to the House Education and Labor Committee, and the House Homeland Security Committee in 2007. Most recently he testified in July of 2009 at a hearing of joint subcommittees of the House Education and Labor Committee.

Ken was invited by the U.S. State Department in April of 2008 to provide a briefing to teachers, school officials and community partners in Israel on school safety, school violence prevention, school security and school emergency preparedness as coordinated by the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv.

Ken provided expert testimony to the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Task Force on School and Campus Safety (2007).

Ken also was an invited attendee, White House Conference on School Safety, led by the President, First Lady, Attorney General, and Secretary of Education; October 2006.
