Kent Ballard is a talented photographer, the beauty connoisseur -- with a keen eye for lighting -- who brings twenty years of artistry and experience to the shoot. In 1985 he established Life Style Photography with a focus on delivering instant photography to his clientele, as well as portrait sittings. He was a known figure at clubs, dances, schools and weddings. Some time later he created IAM Photography – and he became known among the varying influential power circles that surround and encapsulate the Washington Metropolitan area. Now with a new and contagious excitement, he is simply and appropriately Kent Ballard Photography. He continues to service his individual client base. Corporately he seeks out businesses and entrepreneurs within the fashion and beauty industries that believe as he does – "Women are beautiful." A firm believer in the collaborative efforts of industry professionals, Kent Ballard is building a new photographic endeavor and branding his name across that effort.
Kent Ballard is very clear. There are three things he has to do for every shot. Relax, Pamper and Direct the Shoot.
Kent Ballard has assembled a team of artisans – hair, make-up and fashion designers – who do more than rubber stamp a style onto the client. They pamper and spoil the client, reminding her that she is beauty and deserves the time and attention. They choose color, cut, style and texture to suit the individual.
Finally Kent directs the shoot. First he analyzes the beauty's face. Which and what kind of light will showcase the queen's magnificence and put on display her best assets? Is it the eyes or the contours of the cheekbones that should be accentuated in the pose? Perhaps it is the slope of the neck or shoulder, a hand in repose, or the head angled in regal regard? Kent Ballard is the master of lighting. It is his use of technology and his natural aesthetic sense elegance and style which have become trademark in the industry.
