Optimus Solutions specializes in technical and business process management consulting. I was one of the technology leaders at Optimus, and worked in the Application Integration and Middleware group. We did application architecture design and implementation, with a strong focus on open source and Java based frameworks. I'm a Rational (RUP) and Agile Methods advocate. I'm also a WebSphere App Server and Portal Server guru. On most client projects I was the project lead, and also took a strong role in technical pre-sales. Our clients range from small manufacturing companies, to the US Department of Agriculture, and span most industries.

  • Manager of Collaborative Technologies

    marchFIRST

(Public Company; 1001-5000 employees; Computer Software industry)

    March 2000April 2001 (1 year 2 months)

I managed a group of Lotus Notes consultants for the Atlanta office of marchFIRST, formerly USWeb/CKS, Whittman-Hart, MMG (and a few others that gobbled up during the boom). During this time my group had the highest utilization of any other technology group in the office. I was the technology lead on several projects that included Domino migrations, Intranet builds (on Domino), and CRM builds. This was the place where I was exposed to Rational tools and iterative development, and I've never been the same since. This job will always be near and dear to me due to the caliber of the people I worked with. I was sad to leave it. When this company went chapter 7 in 2001, I was the last one out the door (I shut off the lights).
