I am a Senior Architect for Strongback Consulting and specialize in several IBM technologies including WebSphere Portal and Application Server, Lotus Domino and Sametime, and Rational toolsets. I perform implementations, performance tuning, and custom application development. My implementations have included vertical and horizontal clustering on Windows, Linux, AIX, and iSeries (a.k.a. I have a curriculum for all of the above with labs and presentations. I have worked with Lotus Domino for the past 13 years and have built solutions for large enterprises (>150,000 users), and SMB customers. My application development experience includes custom Java application development using various Java POJO based frameworks (Struts/JSF, Spring, Hibernate, XMLBeans, etc), Lotus Notes custom apps (CRM apps, HR apps, B2E type apps), as well as mobile applications on Windows Mobile. Over the past 11+ years I have worked for several IBM business partners and now have my own business. I have technical certifications in IBM WebSphere, Lotus, and Rational.

Optimus Solutions specializes in technical and business process management consulting. I was one of the technology leaders at Optimus, and worked in the Application Integration and Middleware group. We did application architecture design and implementation, with a strong focus on open source and Java based frameworks. I'm a Rational (RUP) and Agile Methods advocate. I'm also a WebSphere App Server and Portal Server guru. On most client projects I was the project lead, and also took a strong role in technical pre-sales. Our clients range from small manufacturing companies, to the US Department of Agriculture, and span most industries.

I managed a group of Lotus Notes consultants for the Atlanta office of marchFIRST, formerly USWeb/CKS, Whittman-Hart, MMG (and a few others that gobbled up during the boom). During this time my group had the highest utilization of any other technology group in the office. I was the technology lead on several projects that included Domino migrations, Intranet builds (on Domino), and CRM builds. This was the place where I was exposed to Rational tools and iterative development, and I've never been the same since. This job will always be near and dear to me due to the caliber of the people I worked with. I was sad to leave it. When this company went chapter 7 in 2001, I was the last one out the door (I shut off the lights).

I designed internet / intranet type applications for clients throughout the southeast. I created, deployed and managed CRM applications. All of these were based on based on Lotus Domino. Also, I designed and implemented email messaging infrastructures (also based on IBM Lotus Notes and Domino) . I became very good at the B2E space, integrating the collaboration features of Domino into a web front end, enabling HR and Financial personnel to communicate to the company at large.
