Network Engineering Manager at ADP Dealer Services
Portland, Oregon Area
I have progressively extended my abilities in the Information Technology arena since my departure from the military in 1997. I began as a field engineer installing technology for Army installations, moved to a support role supporting the Army's WAN, decided I wanted to be a Consultant where I learned much about the sales and business side and obtained my CCIE, and finally moved to an enterprise company where I grew into a management position I currently hold. During this time I remained CCIE certified and obtained my BS in IT Management.
I'm dynamic, fast paced, like to learn, and do not like to be bored. I also believe in working hard and playing hard. Thanks for looking at my profile.

February 2001 — October 2002 (1 year 9 months)
In this position, I served as the lead Network Engineer responsible for the infrastructure and network security design of an infrastructure supporting a 4th generation Content Delivery Network(CDN). Single handedly designed the production infrastructure for the CDN network. I was personally responsible for data center planning and build out in support of the website and applications supporting Centerspan’s showcase product, C-StarOne. I saved our company over $40,000 a month by designing and implementing a data center integration plan which included closing out a 700 sqft facility in Los Angeles and consolidating it in under 500 sqft in Portland, OR. The facility housed over 100 servers supporting the C-StarOne network.
The network infrastructure, which supported the CDN, consisted of Cisco firewalls, routers and switches, Foundry Networks server load balancers, and Foundry networks BigIron L2 and L3 switches.
