My twelve years in web development, with the past eight as the New Media Production Manager for WBUR, has provided me practical experience in web design methodologies, online marketing, traffic analysis and negotiating online content partnerships. Equally at home with the hands-on work of coding web pages, writing and multimedia creation, I have also collaborated with diverse new media teams in fast-paced, news-driven environments. In all cases, these websites were an extension of an older medium with a long, varied and rich history. Hence, I am very well acquainted with the opportunities and challenges such arrangements present.
Much of my time currently involves implementing Web 2.0 strategies. Using no-cost social media tools, I have organized events designed to strengthen WBUR listeners’ loyalty
