The title on my first business card was “the local’s voice”. Marketing by understanding and speaking with and not to customers has been my approach in business. With the increasing effectiveness of blogging, customer marketing and social media approaches these areas of business have become my focus and passion.
With 11 years of experience working in marketing and sales capacities at The Canyons Ski Resort, Backcountry.com, Base Camp Communications, and now with Convotion whether by choice or by circumstance I have often been challenged to find ways to reach lofty goals with very limited budgets. For example, with a focus on blogging I helped Backcountry.com to find unique ways to incorporate blogging into the business model with fantastic ROI.
Current and past clients include: Ski Utah, Bluehouse Skis, Backcountry.com, Utah Vacation Homes, Salt Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau, Gregory, and PROBAR, representing the outdoor, health food, lodging and resort industries.

Camofire is the hunters paradise for deals so good they should be illegal. We’re constantly on the hunt for hunting gear that is deeply discounted, and we’re ready to pass the savings on to our customers.
Like Woot! and others that came before us, we offer one item each day at 50% off or better.

Using blogs as a platform I engage customers and potential customers in conversations to create lasting relationships between brands and people who matter. Helping businesses to connect with their customers by marketing with them not at them is what I love to do.
Other areas of focus are SEO strategies, PR related skills and passion for people and building relationships.

From the Press Release...
With blogs, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and many other social media and social networks continuing to gain ground as influential channels of communication particularly among younger generations, social media strategies have become an integral part of public relations campaigns.
To facilitate this shift, Base Camp Communications announced today that they have hired Kendall Card as Director, Social Media.
The addition makes Base Camp Comm. a groundbreaker in the ability to power the full spectrum of public relations – from traditional media relations and internal communications to blogging and video initiatives, social networking and word-of-mouth campaigns.

My role at Backcountry.com was to embrace current customers and create a community for the brand to become more recognizable and prominent among outdoor enthusiasts. Areas of focus included b2b partnerships, blogging, customer marketing, event and athlete sponsorships, online community networking, and generally detecting and reporting the pulse of the outdoor comunity.
