For over 5 years, Kelly has designed, developed, and managed online entertainment products. Her special areas of interest are social, casual, role-play, and virtual world experiences for niche and non-traditional gamer markets.
Currently, Kelly manages adult entertainment studio Black Love Interactive LLC. Her passion projects include a growing portfolio of diverse adult entertainment sites, and an MMOEG called RaptureOnline. Black Love Interactive's latest release is the x-rated lolporn parody site http://ICanHasFreePorn.com.
In her recent past, she published The Sex Ed Game by ISER Games--an interactive trivia game that acted as a teaching aid for parents and teachers to encourage a healthy dialog about teen sexual health and wellness while supporting a range of ethical and pedagogical approaches.
Kelly participated as a panel speaker at FuturePlay 2005, spoke on two panels, and moderated a third panel at the first Sex in Video Games conference (2006). She also moderated a Sex in MMOGs roundtable at the first annual IMGDC 2007. Kelly spoke about Tikiwiki CMS/Groupware for Game Dev Teams at the April '06 Twin Cities IGDA chapter meeting, and about her work with ISER Games at the University of Minnesota's Games as Learning Tools course in July 2005 and again in July 2006.
Kelly continues to pitch in on a variety of creative projects outside her primary domain of sex in games. She also returned to college in 2009 to study business management. Her personal sites, http://kellyrued.wordpress.com and http://kellyrued.net, spill all her beans.

Kelly wore her radioactive neon CA t-shirts proudly. She helped GDC attendees find bottled water, assisted the lovely folks at the IGDA info booth, and worked the doors for lots of interesting sessions. Whenever anybody, anywhere, asks her how to break into the games industry she never fails to sing the praises of volunteering for the amazing CA program at GDC.

Kelly's design brief for the Pet Trap adventure game won her team a spot in the finals of the 2004 Second Life game developer's competition. Billed as the strangest game to NOT come out of Japan, Pet Trap did not win the competition but our team members still have numerous blue ghostie pets, creepy tombstones, and a 3-story obstacle maze to show for the effort.

Kelly was a volunteer, junior designer in the WIGD-VDT project during their work on Henched!, a humorous inventory management puzzle game. The program was led by volunteer game industry mentors including Chris Oltyan, Sande Chen, and Alan Au. WIGD-VDT has since evolved into Girls in Games.

The UOP ecampus is convenient and affordable. It's the least disruptive way to go back to school (when you don't really believe you have the time to go back to school). I'm very grateful that I live in a time where continued adult education is so accessible.

Began working with online game dev groups in 2003; initiated RaptureOnline game design in 2003 and began pre-production work with Gay Crawford in 2004; left school to found Black Love Interactive LLC in Feb 2005. Didn't finish my bachelor's the first time around, and probably would have switched majors even if had stayed at MSU.

Kelly was an original member of the Leadership Council for the IGDA's Sex SiG before resigning in April 2007. She supports the SiG's mission and hopes they continue to support professional game developers. However, Kelly also looks forward to a day when an expert body is assembled to provide useful leadership for all stake holders in the ubiquitous and increasingly visible world of computer-mediated sex play. When that group is formed, it will not be centered on game developers or for-profit entertainment. One of Kelly's goals is to see online sex play thrive in the hands of consumers, sexologists, and relevant professionals.
