Owner, Karius & Associates Conflict Resolution Consultants
Saskatchewan, Canada
I started my social work career in the child protection field, and found this to be the most stressful job experience I've ever had, I left after a year to start Karius & Associates to many cries of "You can't do that with only a bachelor degree!" But bees aren't supposed to be able to fly either. Working part time jobs (including supervising newspaper carriers, church secretary and clinical therapist) allowed for professional growth as well as the opportunity to make Karius & Associates grow. At present, I am engaged in corporate mediation and training, Court of Queen's Bench custody and access assessor, adoption home study practitioner. I facilitate the mandatory Saskatchewan Justice Parent Education Program for parents who are separating or divorcing and have written a program for adults to use when working with children in separated families. I have authored "This is Out of Control!¡ A Practical Guide for Managing Life's Conflicts" and "The Brief Book of Parenting - A guide for Real Parents with Real Children"
It is my goal for Karius & Associates to continue growing and working with associate contractors throughout Canada.
