Designed and implemented core parts of several large business critical systems in the telecommunications, media, insurance and healthcare sectors. This includes billing solutions for telecommunications and utilities, unit-linked life insurance system, electronic patient record system and news management system.

Designed Usage and Customer Bill data models, which were major contribution by Marand to the TeleManagement Forum’s "Shared Information and Data Model". The TeleManagement Forum is an industry consortium of telecommunications companies and one of the most important standards body in the OSS area.

Extracta

2000 – 2001 (1 year) Ljubljana, Slovenia

Extracta was a Java based system for automated retrieval of data from the web. It was able to extract specific parts of a web page and present them as a new web page or cleaned raw data.

Extracta was a flagship product of startup Spark IT which I founded together with two friends. It was later contributed to open source (http://sourceforge.net/projects/extracta).

IBM featured Extracta as the Component of the Week in May 2001 (http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/webservices/library/co-cow15.html).
