My career exposes me to all facets of the food & wine industry.
As a writer, I have written for both national and regional publications as well as editing an online food and wine magazine. This includes a best-selling cookbook for Perseus, a popular series of wine trade articles for Daily Beast, a series of winery features for a regional Philadelphia magazine, and am the wine critic for another popular Philadelphia magazine.
As the founder of both the Wine School and the Beer School, I have developed educational programming for sommeliers, wine enthusiasts, and universities. My classes have been taught at Drexel University, UPenn, and the Restaurant School.
My students are now winemakers in New Zealand, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Napa Valley, Texas, and the central coast of California. My students have also become sommeliers, restaurateurs, wine distributors, and wine shop owners.
Running the the day to day operations at the WIne School is my utmost priority. I am a seasoned winemaker with several projects in Italy and California, including work with several well-known retail chains to create control brands as well as boutique winery brands. As a winemaker, I no longer take any additional clients without annual contracts.
