Kevin Boardman is a member of the firm’s Private Capital and Investment Funds practice group. He regularly represents private equity funds, hedge funds, other pooled investment funds, and their sponsors, in connection with formation, regulatory compliance and their acquisition and disposition of investments. Kevin also has a wide-ranging mergers and acquisitions, securities and general corporate practice
Kevin's range of experience in representing private investment funds and their investment advisers and sponsors includes the structuring, formation and negotiation of both domestic and offshore funds, regulatory compliance under federal and state investment adviser, broker-dealer and other securities laws and regulations, and the structuring and execution of a wide range of investment transactions on behalf of such funds, including leveraged buyouts, acquisitions and divestitures, control and minority investments, senior and mezzanine debt financing, venture capital investments and recapitalization transactions.
Kevin's M&A, securities and corporate practice includes representing private and public companies in connection with mergers and acquisitions, public and private debt and equity financing, and securities compliance and reporting obligations. His securities practice also includes the representation of originators in connection with the securitization of loan pools and issuance of over $4 billion of asset backed securities through registered public offerings.
In addition to his legal experience, Kevin brings prior entrepreneurial and management experience to bear when advising his clients. He previously founded and served as President of a start-up business with primary responsibility for operations and management of eight employees. In connection with this venture, Kevin was named by the Dallas Business Journal to its list of “40 Under 40” business leaders in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area in 2005.
