Working with a small team building an Adobe Flex based search engine marketing analysis tool called SiteTraxer. We started with Flex when it was new out of the gate. It's been a fantastic tool allowing us to build fully interactive browser-based systems in a fraction of the time you might expect such systems to take.
Also, part of a team building a beta subdomain site for Hoovers: http://people.hoovers.com/

Built a number of real estate websites for several local brokers and realtors. Most are listing sites although some were simple brochure sites for individual realtors. Several have thousands of pages generated from MLS listing data. The feedback I get on these sites is that they produce considerable leads.
Also have build sites for a number of local construction contractors and small stores. You can see my site for more detail.

September 1993 — April 2001 (7 years 8 months)
Contractor assigned out to quite a few companies such as Compaq, Tenneco, Panhandle Eastern, Halliburton, Exxon and Amoco. I worked on a wide variety of client/server database applications using a number of different tools and languages, Sybase, C and C++, Powerbuilder, HTML, CGI using both Perl and C, Visual Basic and Access being just a short list. Toward the end of this period I was working predominantly with Access VBA with a Sybase/Oracle backend. These systems made heavy use of stored procedures.
In the majority of these assignments I was responsible for the design of the system as well as coding. I met with the clients, got to know their business and the systems they were currently using. We then worked together to design a clear specification for the project complete with timelines for deliverables. Usually I did the coding myself although in a couple of cases I had other programmers reporting to me to help with the work.

Worked in Manufacturing Systems Support for CCM5 - Options under Bob Remels. In this group I developed several different test data collections systems using C, Sybase, Powerbuilder, dBase, and Clipper. I was responsible for collecting requirements from the manufacturing groups in the factory, coding those requirements, and finally putting them in production complete with training classes I developed and taught. I then supported these applications throughout their life on an on-call basis in a factory with round the clock shifts. Often these systems needed to integrate with systems supported by other groups.

I was primarily taught real-world programming through the generous support of many people I've worked with over the years. Many thanks to Dan Tapp, Mark Main, Liz Hecht, Barry Block, and Ahn Nguyen who have both challenged and enlightened me over the years! Where would I be without you guys!
