Kathryn Darden’s Summary

I have many years experience in sales and marketing, beginning when I was in college. I honed those skills and became proficient in promoting and publicizing Christian events and entertainment. Recognizing the need for a better outlet for publicizing Christian events in Nashville, I developed the Koinonia Concert Calendar in 1987 which became Christian Activities Publications in 1992,

As a writer and journalist, I have written articles for many newspapers and magazines across the country. I have also had poetry published in numerous anthologies and journals through the years.

In 1990, I began compiling tips about concert promotions for churches and other promoters on a tight budget which I published in a small, 8-page booklet. In 2006 I served as an author's rep for a Nashville publishing company. Taking my many years experience in sales, marketing, and publicity, and combining it with my years as a concert promoter and author's rep, I have just written a book for people trying to promote their own self-published book on a tight budget.

I am available for conventions and seminars as a speaker on book promotions.

While working with Kathryn Darden, she quickly set herself apart as one who was effective, knowledgeable and vitally interested in our field. Her outgoing, fun personality quickly attracted those around her to team up with her and join in to the projects we were promoting. Sharp, efficient, effective, creative, an independent thinker, a mover and shaker, a people-person, honest, straightforward while tactful, and fun. Recommendation:

I worked for Kathryn over a period of 3 years during my tenure with The Southwestern Company in the early 1980's. Kathryn has incredible abilities in sales, sales management, and recruitment. Although it has been nearly 30 years since we worked together, she remains at the very top of my list of "best sales people I have ever seen." (In the past 25 years, I have been on sales calls with more than 200 different reps.)

Kathryn is a genuine and customer-focused person, as well as persistent and action oriented. She has a unique ability to put the customer at ease, create the need for her product or service, and walk away with the business. I would highly recommend her for any position that requires influencing a customer to act. She would also be a very valuable sales manager or director.
