Research interests include community collaboration, outreach, user-centered services, grassroots advocacy, and increasing information literacy.
Recent projects include a presentation on High Impact Program Planning at the TLA District 3 Fall meeting, development of a comprehensive planning document for the Austin Public Library including identification of long-term program initiatives, community partners, funding sources, and evaluation tools and policies.

Taught Information in Cyberspace (i312), a course in information literacy and privacy for undergraduate students at UT. Students learned how to manage their information online (including building websites using XHTML and CSS, privacy considerations), and how to navigate information on the web using a variety of tools and resources.

Helped patrons successfully pursue their research and interests by assisting them with catalog searching, discovery of Dewey categories for browsing, and demonstrating use of the ILLiad system, and the hold system. Increased patron use of unknown library items through readers advisory. Encouraged patrons to make full use of library resources by recommending appropriate databases for use.

Reference assistance includes a heavy emphasis on library instruction, particularly in the use of library databases and formulation of information queries to the OPAC.
