In 2006 Karina helped her friend Blake Mycoskie (another serial entrepreneur) launch TOMS Shoes, an innovative footwear start-up and leader in the world of socially conscious enterprise while also working as a content acquisitions executive at NextMedium-- a tech start-up developing analytics and valuation methodologies around a marketplace platform to enable entertainment companies and advertisers to define, measure and manage brand integration and product placement.
Prior to NextMedium, Karina was an executive at an LA based product placement agency where she created and executed branding strategies on behalf of clients by working with Hollywood studio executives and producers on their various entertainment properties. She also spent six years at Miramax Films where she played an integral role in starting the television division of the company before being promoted over to the film side as a production executive in charge of product placement for all theatrical, television and direct-to-video projects. Karina started her career in entertainment in the TV Packaging Department at the William Morris Agency after a two year college internship at Lifetime Television in Longform Programming & Development.
