My career background includes dressing up as "Pippi Longstocking" every day for work, making money at cheerleading camps over the summers, teaching gymnastics to pre-school kids, organizing sports camps and leagues, planning events for fraternity/sorority students and making Community Next fun for all. Now, I'm planning events for Mashable, which promises to be challenging, exciting and crazy!
My goal for working has always been to have fun and more recently has developed into being passionate about what I'm doing. I love meeting people and creating fun environments for them to connect. When others have a good time, that's when I feel successful.
event planning, sports tournaments and leagues, and just all around having fun

I work hard so you can play hard ;) My first responsibility with Mashable was the 7 City U.S. Summer Tour where we met over 3500 people. Now working on monthly events to bring together the tech elite and allow web companies to show off what they're doing. I *love* what I'm doing and the people I'm interacting with. What a great job!
Interested in partnering with Mashable? Let's work together to make things happen and get your business in front of the right people.

Making sure the world knows about the awesomeness of Blurb, a creative publishing platform which allows you to create and print your own books. I rock meetups, parties, expo booths, as well as the Casbah.

Helped coordinate the Community Next conference series. First conference I worked on was "Platforms" in Sunnyvale, CA. Some of the top Facebook app developers were brought in for 2 days of presentations and panels. I assisted with speaker and registration coordination.
After Platforms concluded, plans for the next conference "Next Generation of Media and the Web" went into effect. I secured a unique venue in Hollywood, which the attendees raved about, created web pages, managed all registration, speaker coordination, VIP dinner plans for 50+ people, promotion, ticket sales, and onsite logistics. This event sold out with almost 300 people and was profitable.

June 2004 — March 2008 (3 years 10 months)
I managed conferences for 800+ fraternity/sorority students in multiple locations each year. I also planned fun things, like our annual 100-hole golf fundraiser (yes, it can be done!) and our Greek Staff meetings in Orlando at a kickin' resort, where our team bonded by the pool during the day and night! Don't forget being web content manager and doing what I could to assist 50+ staff across the U.S.

I was paid to be a big kid and run the youth sports program from kids 3-8 years old. Also organized fun events like Day with Dad, annual New Year's Eve Family Fun Bash and Parent's Night Out. Was on-site manager for many Saturday soccer, volleyball and basketball tournaments and leagues for older kids, teens and adults. Lots of problem solving on those days!

What didn't I do here? I was in charge of adult power volleyball leagues, the college's Intramural program, Teen Xtreme and Youth Sports camps over the summer, and non-competitive youth sports programs including soccer, basketball and t-ball for kids 4-9. Fun times!
