Kara LaFleur received her BFA in Photography with a minor in Bookmaking from the University of the Arts, where she focused on alternative image making processes. After graduation, her involvement with the Center for Emerging Visual Artists provided experience in the Non-Profit and Arts and Culture Sectors, primarily in administrative and development roles. Kara further developed her interest in community organizing and youth outreach as the Director of Summer Programming at Work to Ride, a non-profit prevention program providing disadvantaged youth with activities surrounding horsemanship, equine sports and education. She continues to volunteer with this amazing program and is in the midst of a long term photographic project about WTR, for which she received a Leeway Art and Change grant in 2008. Kara joined the Night Kitchen Interactive team in 2007, coordinating marketing communications, strategies, and events.
