Educated as an engineer-MBA, Saurabh Kanwar missed the tech boom because he thought media was the future. Even a stint at Wipro Infotech failed to open his eyes.
So as the world figured out stock options, Kanwar figured out ways to convince his family that money wasn't everything, and marketing at MTV was spiritually enriching.
As the need to pay his EMIs became more urgent, he sought greener pastures, with Walt Disney Television, and then as head of marketing at Radio City.
But with interest rates soaring, he's hoping that as Head of Content & Communication at Channel [v], he can con some banker to waive off his debts in exchange for a chance to be a VJ or something. Not very bright, but he is desperate.
Saurabh is thankfully married to a doctor, so he at least has easy access to fake medical certificates when he shirks work. They have 2 children, ages 4 and 2, whom Saurabh is already training for careers in investment banking.
