Kamla Bhatt’s Summary
I produce and host an Internet radio show about India and the global Indian community. I shuttle between India and the USA and my travels provide me a great way to meet entreprenuers, technologists, writers, actors and visionaries around the world.
The theme of my show is Life, People and Ideas. Technology has changed the perception about India at the global level. Technology again has made it possible for me to produce this Internet radio show, which is the first of its kind that looks at India and the global Indian community.
Today's India is very different from the India of the 1970s and 1980s, which was dominated by license raj and sluggish economic growth. In today's India there is far greater confidence and an aspiration to succeed. I am interested in exploring and highlighting stories about what motivates and inspires a person to succeed?
Join me in my journey where I interview seasoned technologists, VCs, writers, artists and entrpreneurs and discover and learn how they achieved success, and how failure often is truly a stepping stone to success. Technologists, entrepreneurs and investors from the global Indian community have played a pretty significant role in the new India story.
Guests on my show include: David Filo, Yogen Dalal, Kittu Kolluri, Prof. Freeman, Tim O' Reilly, Prof. Ashok Jhunjhunwala, Rajat Gupta, Vinod Dham, Kevin Fong, Umang Gupta, Mira Nair, Ashish Gupta, Vikram Chandra, Kal Penn, Shyam Benegal, Anupama Chopra, Madhur Jaffrey, Anita Nair, Srividya Natarajan, AR Rehana, Govind Nihalani, Rudhresh Mahanthappa, Vijay Iyer and Ameen Sayani among others.
My video blog catures the changing and the new India at http://youtube.com/kamlabhatt
I previously produced and hosted two other radio show online: NewsAboutIndia and TalkNewsIndia.
I started my media career in the US in the mid-1990s and was lucky to have witnessed and chronicled the dotcom boom in Silicon Valley.

(Broadcast Media industry)
June 2005 — Present (3 years 2 months)
This is the first Internet radio show that is focussed on India and the global Indian community around the world.
The eclectic nature of the show is to appeal to the inquisitive and thinking Indian or Indophile, who wants to listen and enjoy a good conversation. The show is broadly divided into Life, People and Ideas.
The focus of show is to present consistently good conversations that can enrich you. When listening to these conversations the goal is to help you find “the elation that comes of swift contact with the tingling currents of thoughts,” as Agnes Repplier put it. And “that “swift contact with the tingling currents of thoughts,” might spark off when you listen to a writer describe how they found inspiration for their novel, or an entrepreneur talk of their struggle to build their company, or hear a film maker describe how they can up with the storyline for their film.
