Social Media Strategist at OptimalResume.com
Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area
Recent UNC-Chapel Hill grad with business acumen and design sense carving out a path that blends my passions for efficiency, strategy and creativity — and if I'm lucky, evolutionary psychology. Right now, that means an exciting social media strategist position at OptimalResume.com. Previously, it was leading an 80-person student-run magazine out of debt and into full-color in under a year.

September 2007 — December 2008 (1 year 4 months)
PRESIDENT (Sept - Dec 2008) I managed a 501(c)3 non-profit, an 80-person staff and an $18,000 budget, while generating sufficient revenue for the magazine to print in full-color for the first time in its 10-year history. I also presented the keynote address at the organization's inaugural alumni reunion.
PRESIDENT & CREATIVE DIRECTOR (Sept 2007 - Sept 2008) I took over the magazine when it was in debt and lacked organizational structure. I assembled a team of 30 to fill positions in finance, public and internal relations, and development. At the same time, I maintained my responsibilities as art director and jump-started ad sales from $0 to $1,600 per month peak sales. The magazine recovered from debt within three months of my taking office.
SALES & MARKETING COORDINATOR (May - Aug 2008) In three months, I sold $3,000 in ads and 27 sponsorships for the purchase of marketing materials, and solicited a $400 contribution to subsidize the magazine's Chamber of Commerce membership.
(Primary/Secondary Education industry)
January 2008 — October 2008 (10 months)
I worked with the organization's executive director to develop the Student U. identity through the creation of collateral pieces. I redesigned and rewrote Student U.'s brochure and one-sheet, and executed their first-ever annual report from concept to creation.

I redesigned the magazine for the first time in three years while delegating assignments to 10 designers and editing their layouts each month. I also researched, wrote and designed a media kit for advertisers and created a style guide for designers.
