Welcome to my LinkedIN Portfolio of Connections, Connections, Connections!
- Growing Involvement with the Baltimore Maryland & Washington DC Areas though the Exotic Car and Luxury Products Sales community through www.mobexotics.com
- Active community member of Ashburn, Virginia, located in the Dulles Technology Corridor of Loudoun County in Northern Virginia (a part of the DC Metro region)
I enjoy working to create a sense of community for individuals who travel to or reside in various parts of the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic Regions of the United States. Preferring the waterfront community areas, I'm a loyal visitor to Charleston (South Carolina), Virginia Beach, Northern Virginia's DC Metro Alexandria/Potomac, and anywhere in and around the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay (our new home base for 2008). We enjoy traveling for various car shows and automotive functions throughout the regions, and I'm very involved in charity benefit and cultural activities projects in these areas as often as I can make myself available.
I've also traveled extensively in the United States, and someday would enjoy residing (or working) on the European or Australian Continents. Needless to say, we are working hard to create a lifestyle that supports telecommuting from all of these great destinations. To reside in Italy, or travel there frequently to do historical research and writing projects, has always been a lifelong dream. To blend my love of history and the car community and begin to chronicle our friends international travels and life history in the auto community into an academic resource journal for historians is the most likely "next thing" for me to be doing after my son begins college.
We love LinkedIN because our contacts bases here lets us realize what a wonderful and small world we live in--connecting to our friends, family, and clients here and being able to give recommendations gives us a broader sense of global connection.
My goal and specialty is as it has always been: I connect the dots in order to help make great things happen.

1990 — 1995 (5 years)
Taking a trip down memory lane...
At 20 years old, formed, established and succeeded in creating a successful "Mobile Marine Engine Repair Service" business serving over 400 Florida Gulf Coast Inboard Diesel Yachts by the end of the second year. Offering marine maintenance, 24 hour emergency service repair, and dockside service, ownership rights were released to other co-owner and shortly thereafter the company disbanded.*
Altogether, the project was a tremendous experience for me during my years of participation. As a learning venture into the world of a small "service industry" business and non-retail office management, I greatly enjoyed interacting daily with boaters in the Sarasota, Manatee, Pinellas, and Charlotte County regions. Working with yacht brokers and boat owners, I made many professional and personal friends with people living or working in the Southeast and Florida Gulfcoast regions.
*I returned to college as a non-traditional (adult) student in 1996.

Roger Cumbie's School of Real Estate offered an unforgettable experience. Taking classes for my sales license and my brokers license left me beautifully prepared for the North Carolina Real Estate Broker's exam. I passed confidently and comfortably--and had fun while I was studying with him. Classroom hours can be so tedious, but all the class members in my groups enjoyed out time in them.
My husband went to school with Roger for salesperson training ten years before I did. Since both of us are getting involved in real estate now in Virginia, we are forever cracking jokes and referring back to "Cumbie-isms". We both highly recommend the school and his comprehensive and delightful programs.
Hopefully, Roger and his sweet wife have retried permanently by now to their shasta trailer--or are out and about touring the country in their Gremlin. Loved by so many real estate professionals in the Western Carolina area, our best wishes go with them.
