Kaarli began her career as a physicist in the Theoretical Physics Research Department at Bell Labs, where she discovered a new type of chemsorptive bond that changed the theory of corrosion. Since then, her work has focused on emerging and disruptive technologies, and the new economic and social opportunities they offer. Her specialty is the visualization and communication of large amounts of complex data.
Kaarli has used these technologies to create a competitive advantage for clients as diverse as the Japanese firm Mizuho, CS First Boston, Lucent, General Electric, The Nature Conservancy, and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). For the latter, Kaarli led the team that created the 3D Virtual Trading Floor (3DTF), a virtual world displayed on a 7 foot video wall in the heart of the Exchange. The 3DTF is a live, interactive decision support system allowing NYSE staff to analyze complex events and respond to them in real time.
Currently, Kaarli is Practice Lead for Adobe Consulting in New York, developing custom solutions which revolutionize the way people engage with ideas and information.
Kaarli received an A.B. cum laude in Physics from Harvard and was IBM Fellow in the Yale Department of Engineering and Applied Physics.
In addition to her interest in technology, Kaarli paints landscapes in watercolor and sculpts in clay. Her work has been displayed in many group exhibits in the extended New York metropolitan area. She has a rotating show at Bleu Evolution in New York City.
