The Ontario Knowledge Cluster brings together diverse and seemingly disparate avenues of thought leadership and practice proficiency with the intent of establishing a collaborative process through which real-world solutions to complex problems can be achieved.
To be successful both today and for many years to come it is important that the Cluster be built on this foundation of true collaboration and cooperation in which each member leaves a unique imprint on the evolution of collective outcomes. This is one of my primary mandates as lead facilitator.

Through a variety of medium such as my seminar series and various articles, papers and columns I strive to present the ideas and insights that will empower professionals to think outside of the framework of that with which they are most familiar.
It was in this spirit that I introduced the Procurement Insights Blog in May of 2007 (http://procureinsights.wordpress.com/)
It is also with this same level of enthusiasm that I have accepted the role of Chief Architect for the CATAAlliance Supply (Chain) Practices Hub. CATA (http://www.cata.ca/), is recognized as the thought leader in terms of industry best practices, serving a core membership base of 28,000. The Supply (Chain) Practices Hub represents the next logical step in delivering value to both private and public sector professionals throughout the world.

I am often retained by organizations such as the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC), the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) and the National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP) to provide either a 1-Day orientation seminar or 2-Day accredited course based on my award winning Changing Face of Procurement Conference Series. This 4-Part Series has successfully provided both public and private sector organizations with the insights they have needed to effectively evaluate the viability of their e-procurement strategy (including RFP creation) or alternatively, to drive greater value from an existing e-procurement program.
I launched the Procurement Insights Blog (http://procureinsights.wordpress.com/) in May 2007. In the the first month there was close to 15,000 post reads.

Motivated by the identification of the 2 commodity characteristics discussed in the Acres of Diamonds paper (in particular the Dynamic Flux findings), I led a development team that investigated the potential to utilize advanced algorithms as a means of reliably increase purchasing autonomy at the local level while still adhering to centrally established objectives.
The research was partly funded by the Government of Canada’s Scientific Research and Experimental Development - SR&ED program. The end result was the introduction of the first algorithm-based purchasing tool that enabled a major public sector organization to realize a 23% cost of goods savings annually over a period of several years, while simultaneously reducing the total number of centralized buyers required to manage a major contract to 3 from an original 23.
