I am CEO of GameLayers, the company behind the internet game The Nethernet (formerly PMOG). We layer video games over online life - The Nethernet is a free MMO in a Firefox toolbar.
In the 1990s, I wrote online ("Justin's Links from the Underground") and worked for a number of online content ventures in San Francisco. Between 2001 and 2003, I lived in Japan, reporting on mobile technology and video games.
In 2007, I earned an MFA in "Interactive Media" from the USC Film School. My masters thesis on "Passively Multiplayer Online Gaming" evolved into GameLayers.
