After college, he immediately received a job at Print Design, a graphic/web design company located in Alton, Illinois, which later became Brick Street Creative. There, he designed logos and identities, print products and websites, eventually becoming the web director and a lead graphic designer.

Justen has been freelancing heavily since college, and in 2006 he had enough clientele to start Visual Lure, LLC., where he is today.
