I'm also very active in the web/interactive community and in social media and have been a guest speaker at The Chicago New Media Summit (talking about the future of Chicago jobs and education in new/digital media), the Illinois Recruiter's Association (where I spoke about social media recruiting), and at universities and design schools like The School of the Art Institute (where I advised curriculum developers and career advisors on the 'real' world of jobs in design). I also run a 600+ member education and networking group (the Chicago Interactive Design/Development Meetup Group) that meets monthly to discuss current trends and best practices in online communications.
