Editor / Consumer Product Reviewer @ Gear Diary
San Angelo, Texas Area
I am a gadget enthusiast responsible for almost 500 individual and co-written consumer reviews at the popular website The Gadgeteer. Now writing for my own site, Gear Diary, I have continued to cover the gadgets and other types of gear that we all love to collect and carry. I also make occasional guest review appearances on other respected gadget and PDA sites.
My time is divided between running my family's ranching operation and the never-ending pursuit of the ultimate gadgets.
My specialty is writing in-depth reviews that include lots of touchy-feely observations which can only be made after using the heck out of a particular product.

I have had a fascination with all types of gadgets and gizmos since I was a child, beginning with the toy robot that my grandmother gave my brother - which I promptly "relieved him of" in 1973. I have long been captivated by devices that did anything interesting or served a unique purpose - however silly.
I can't tell you how everything works – but I am known world-wide for using a product until I have a full understanding of what it does, what its limitations are, and if it excels in any given area...or not.

My family has been involved in the farming and ranching industry for hundreds of years. I am a fourth generation Texas rancher, and as such am a passionate advocate for the humane treatment of livestock, legislative and regulatory vigilance in relation to land and mineral owners' rights, wildlife conservation, and the complete end of the "death tax".

I started as an occasional reviewer at The Gadgeteer when it was a much smaller site, basically run single-handedly by its editor-in-chief, Julie Strietelmeier. Within six months I was Julie's writing partner, and for the next six years I had the privilege of being part of something amazing. As part of that team I made a direct contribution to the Gadgeteer's growth from a well regarded enthusiast's site into a world-wide recognized authority on gadgets, gizmos and their accessories. Due to my work at the Gadgeteer, I have earned a solid reputation as a respected gadget reviewer.
