Palmtastik was a Web portal for PalmPilot owners (back when it was called PalmPilot!). My partners and I built the site from the ground up, and raised and spent a total of zero dollars. Within 6 months of launch we were the #2 trafficked Palm web site on the Internet, and had been interviewed by magazines such as Entertainment Weekly and GQ.
However, this was just before the 'dot-com era' and we had no idea the bubble was coming. Without any obvious path to profitability, we decided to shutter the site.
I like to think we closed the first dot-com, long before the crash.
