J Steinberg Design is a boutique firm specializing in fine residential interiors based out of Orange County, CA. My growing firm specializes in Classic design styles for estates and homes of distinction. I'm hired by clients with Transitional, Traditional and Period style tastes that want a young & fresh design solution for an enduring interior.

Since launching my firm in 2007, I’ve worked in high dollar real estate in coastal CA- catering to discerning clients for projects that involve the majority of an entire home. I work directly with clients, builders and architects from the ground up, as well as remodels and cosmetic re-designs. My architectural design training reinforces my desire to incorporate the distinguishing architectural style of a house while magnifying the tastes and values of my clients on the interior. Architectural details and all the subsequent layers of interior design including surfaces, lighting, color & texture, furnishings, textiles, art, custom designed elements and style direction are skillfully addressed; and, in unison, reflect design integrity in concert with the stated architecture and the tastes & preferences of my clients.

I am most intrigued with residential architecture that has a particular style, and I like to weave that into the interior. I feel a home has more integrity when the architecture is both respected and taken into consideration on the interior. I take projects locally and throughout the United States, from 1,500 sq. ft. beach houses to 12,000 sq. ft.+ mansions and estates.

I work closely with my clients, and I limit my project load to ensure my hand & management in every project. I feel the "business" side of the project is just as important as the final outcome, and I strive for excellent client services in every aspect of my business and in every phase of the design process.

Janelle Steinberg’s Specialties:

I am knowledgeable in historic architecture and design styles. I am able to address the interior envelope of a space from the grand gesture to the small details. From concept and planning to installation- I am experienced in designing and managing entire interior design budgets and designs. I am fully versed in Construction Documents.

I am skilled at freehand sketching, hand drawing and rendering, hand drafting, planning and programming, color theory, and extensive textiles knowledge.
