Janine Southard’s Summary
I am a Marketing and Communications generalist with a knack for explaining things. I have edited for small publications, managed writers and editors, and presented on Social Media initiatives to internal clients.
Most recently, I have been the face and voice of Online Community Marketing as a contractor for PopCap Games, conversing with online customers and using my written and interpersonal skills to build brand presence in Social Media outlets. Behind the scenes, I have written research reports and presentations that lead to recommending (or not) the next Social Media platform best suited to PopCap's needs and audience. These reports included competitor analysis and some statistical details. From there, I've joined Catalysis Corporation, an interactive marketing agency.
My goals: To grow my abilities in Communications and Social Media. Building upon a background in editing, copywriting, and basic graphic design, I'd like to further grow my skill set to include more Event Planning and Public Relations. I am familiar with busy departments, management of small teams, and the writing of project plans. Most of all, I enjoy being a generalist who can be called on to do (or pick up!) all manner of Communications tasks and goals.
