Projects

Academic Awareness Conference 2011

Transformed the conference into a highly interactive experience for first and second year students in the DeGroote business program that focuses on career preparation as well as academic curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities, resulting in positive feedback from attendees, guest speakers, sponsors, and the DeGroote Commerce Society executive team.

Liaised with the DeGroote Commerce Society, the Centre for Business Career Development, McMaster External Relations, the McMaster Students Union, faculty members, clubs, and previous AAC chairs to learn best practices, plan logistics, schedule 15 speakers, and prepare a committee budget in a timely manner.

Planned and executed an effective promotional strategy for the conference which included class announcements, creating and updating a Facebook page, and hiring a marketing and promotions committee member to create promotional materials such as posters and a banner, which resulted in meeting the targeted attendance of 60 students.
