In the fall of 2009 I stepped out on my own as a web strategy and design consultant. During my career I have been responsible for directing all aspects of interactive projects, integrating marketing, design, and business processes into a comprehensive solution. From shaping the initial project vision and developing the information architecture, to providing creative direction for the visual design and managing the implementation, I have overseen both the creative and technical aspects of interactive projects.
Recently I've become a passionate advocate of web standards and accessibility, finding benefits in usability, access for a broader audience and significant gains in stability and maintainability of projects overall. Coupled with the emerging prominence of social media and the interoperability of various web application technologies, the industry has become more exciting than ever. It opens whole new worlds for innovation in the corporate environment, not to mention how people and information systems interact in daily life. Keeping eyes wide open when approaching any new project has yielded surprising and significant new opportunities, both for users and the client.
I have more than 15 years experience in designing and developing interactive projects for clients ranging from local businesses to the Fortune 25. Prior to launching my consulting practice I have served as Director of Interactive/Technology for (add)ventures, Director of Web Services for North Sails, was Chief Executive Officer and founder of Bathysphere Digital Media and served as Creative Director for TWI Interactive.
Background in graphic design and over a decade's experience in print and online design, HTML, CSS, XML, XHTML, Javascript, numerous development platforms (.NET, PHP, Witango and others). Extensive experience in usability and information architecture. Have designed and developed numerous websites, eCommerce applications, complex web-based applications and complete hardware/software solutions for end users and within data centers.
