Our recent Long Beach Crawfish Festival example was a great example of Joy’s online marketing and PR Wizardry. The event saw significant year on year growth, due in large part to Joy’s strategic online outreach.
A more recent example was the Original Long Beach Lobster Festival, which was a launch event. We started from ground zero, with no public or internet awareness whatsoever. Joy blazed the trails, aggressively outreaching to local calendars, newsgroups, meet-up groups, foodie groups, blogs, etc.
She also employed other cutting edge online marketing techniques through leveraging social networking sites like Facebook, Youtube, MySpace and Flickr. In all, she achieved over 5,000 Google hits in about 3 weeks (way more hits to date than competing Lobster Festivals around over 10 years!) Our sales reports indicated a significant number of advance purchase tickets came from “web sources.”
