Joy Fahrenkrog’s Summary

Joy Fahrenkrog has a passion for helping people set goals and follow through on them. A goal setter herself, she trained for and competed in two Olympic trials, made four national teams, attended two world cups, and won a world ranking event in the sport of Archery. Although Joy grew up in Colorado and has since lived in 7 other states and two other countries, Joy settled on California after falling in love with the warm weather and proximity to the ocean when she was invited to be a resident athlete at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center in January of 2006.

In addition to her sporting endeavors, Joy has spent much of her free time helping various organizations in the San Diego area. She has a compassionate heart and a desire to improve the lives of others. During the first crucial nights of Firestorm 2007, she volunteered with San Diego 211 helping manage their call center. She has also worked extensively with the Purple Palace, a Tijuana orphanage, to get computers, shoes, food and money to support their daily operations. Joy is currently one of two volunteers working directly with the San Diego Foundation and the Chula Vista Mayor’s Office to get Endow Chula Vista up and running.
