My process is:
- inventory gaps and optimizations
-- it's important not to stir things up
-- focus on high value issues - example - issues that affect all senior partners
-- key is in selective polling of resources for inventory - ie. I don't ask everyone send in their complaints
- assess potential returns on eliminating gaps and creating optimizations
-- imagine the goals were achieved - what's the best / worst possible return
- work with new and existing resources as needed to provide on going upgrades and maintenance to achieve business goals
