Through hands-on courses, I have developed many lab skills useful in today’s advancing fields of biotechnology. Through these courses I have acquired experience with various biotech protocols, including, but not limited to, PCR, SDS-PAGE, and Western Blotting. I have also worked with bacterial and general cell culturing procedures under aseptic conditions. Through my Organic Chemistry lab work, I have acquired experience with IR Spectroscopy and NMR Spectroscopy. My work experience has given me proven skill working in both GLP and non-GLP environments, as well as many animal related protocols ranging from simple gavage, anesthesia and to a wide range of specialized ocular work.
My computer experience is extensive. In addition to the computer related courses related to my minor in Computer End-User Technology, I had been enrolled in the Management Computer Systems (MCS) program at UW-Whitewater for two years prior to changing my major to Biology. I have continued to gain experience of computer technology through outside endeavors as well. Most recently I completed building a website for the UW-Whitewater Biology department as well as development of the homepage for the local theater troop Mercury Players Theatre.
