I focus on the toughest problems faced by my clients and the niche markets I am connected with. I serve as a resource in a variety of direct and indirect ways.
Some current activities: IT (technology) consulting, development of information products for niche markets (currently in personal finance niches), and business development for entrepreneurs and small business owners.
I draw upon my experiences as an entrepreneur, technologist, private investor, and, of course, a regular person who has had to make my own mistakes and discoveries to get where I am today. I rely heavily on my personal and professional networks. I am an avid reader of books, newsletters, blogs -- anywhere knowledge and ideas can be found. (I typically read 3-5 books every month). I also set aside a lot of time every day to think and reflect.
I have a solid background in the technology industry as an entrepreneur, executive, manager, and technician. I have been an active private investor (in publicly traded securities) since 1997, which has broadened and re-enforced my business strategy, marketing, and financial analysis skills. This has made me not only a better investor but also a better businessperson.
I've been a problem solver since I can remember, able to break down problems and see through them to their real essence. Of course, I have my circle of competence -- where I tend to be best at tackling problems.
I work best with self-employed persons, entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurial minded organizations. I also assist individuals in niche markets where I have particular expertise or experience -- or can gather it through research -- that is relevant to tackling their frustrating or complex needs.
I'm also a foster parent and have taken up a recent interest, as a fan more so than a player, in a sport I really enjoyed as a kid -- soccer.
