I started with P&G when I was a sophomore at the University of Cincinnati in interactive marketing. I moved over to traditional brand marketing (Dawn, Cascade, Swiffer, and Mr. Clean) for a few years, learned a lot, and now I'm leading P&G's global understanding and development of digital marketing analytics.
One of the many things that I've learned in my time at P&G is that the political path to upper management is not for me. I don't need a corner office to be happy with my life and work, just a worthwhile goal and a lot of personal freedom.
I'm also the creator of the Personal MBA, a DIY approach to business education that was featured in BusinessWeek in 2006. The program features 70 of the very best business books and resources available, which provide a first-class business education without the crippling debt of traditional business school. You can find more details at http://personalmba.com.
Spreading good ideas, digital media, interactive marketing, marketing measurement, web analytics, consumer product development, project management, information systems design, business writing, productivity techniques, personal development, internet publishing, print-on-demand publishing.

I work as an internal online marketing consultant for all of P&G's brands around the world. P&G is still the world's biggest advertiser, but we're still way behind when it comes to using online methods to market brands. My team's job is to help educate brands about what's possible, provide them tools to measure and track effectiveness, learn how to optimize campaigns, and ultimately change the way P&G promotes products online.

I am the creator of the Personal MBA, a method of business self-education that was featured in BusinessWeek in April, 2006. Recently, I launched a PMBA coaching practice designed to help people create and complete a program of self-education that's based on their personal goals.
I am also in the process of creating a comprehensive online course called "Business Mental Models" that will teach 127 of the most important concepts I've learned through my work with the Personal MBA.
Worldly Wisdom Ventures is a holding company I've created to manage the business operations of projects like the Personal MBA and Business Mental Models.

August 2005 — December 2006 (1 year 5 months)
During my last two co-op quarters with P&G, I worked as an Assistant Brand Manager on the Mr. Clean brand, focusing on new product development work. In 6 months, I kicked off the re-launch of the venerable Mr. Clean All-Purpose cleaner lineup, established a team to expand the brand into a new category (which will launch in 2007), and proved to management that three other ideas weren't worth pursuing.
My first full-time assignment with P&G was as an Assistant Brand Manager in our sales division, supporting the teams that work with our Top 10 customers. This assignment was a crash course in how big companies work. I accomplished some good things, including creating in-store displays that shattered company records in shopper testing, but quite frankly the role was a poor fit for my skills and interests. I view this role as a tremendous growth experience: I learned a lot about myself, my goals, and who and what I want to be.

March 2001 — December 2004 (3 years 10 months)
I started with P&G when I was a sophomore at the University of Cincinnati. During the 4 academic quarters I co-oped in P&G's IT division, I helped build homemadesimple.com, which is now one of the largest consumer relationship marketing programs in the CPG industry. My role was primarily technical consulting, developing new capabilities, and running pilot tests for those capabilities.
BBA, Business Information Systems, Real Estate, minor in Philosophy, 2000 — 2005
I was fortunate enough to attend UC as the recipient of a Cincinnatus scholarship, both because it paid for my education and introduced me to my lovely wife, Kelsey.
College was a wonderful experience: I made a lot of great friends, took a lot of interesting and eclectic courses (like graduate-level seminars on Aristotle), and was introduced to many new perspectives on life. I also competed in college mock trial, which I had some experience with in high school, and was recognized as an All-American in 2001 and 2004.
