Josh Can Help was born from a random and exciting idea to help someone I know build a website to promote his business. I had not completed one whole page before I realized that this was something I really enjoyed and wanted to continue doing. As an excuse to build another site, I promptly started on my own homepage. The domain name, joshcanhelp.com, popped into my head one day and I grabbed it before thinking twice. Good thing it turned out to be a good one.
Everything I make is to the best of my ability using the most modern techniques I’m aware of. I’m very pragmatic in both design and development which makes for compliant, accessible sites and emails that load quickly and work across many browsers. I stay current on search engine optimization, front-end coding techniques, and social technology to create sites that will last.
Despite the somewhat egocentric name, Josh Can Help is just a way to say that I have a hand in everything that is produced. I find it comforting to work with a company where I know who is accountable and can speak to them directly. Most of the time, I’m the strategist, designer, and builder. But if I’m not, I’m still the guy to call.
I enjoy every piece of the web strategy puzzle but I’m not the best person for every job. As such, I’m always looking for new people to work with and learn from. I work with very talented graphic designers, print designers, hardcore developers, writers, editors, and marketing strategists and love to give them work.
If you’re a company looking for someone to handle a piece of your puzzle, I’m always on the hunt for great teams to join for a project. If you’re a freelance designer, web programmer, or online marketing guru that wants to join my referral network (sounds important huh? It means you’re in my Google contacts), shoot me a line and tell me what you’re great at and what you like to do.
- Web design with Adobe products and web development with (X)HTML/CSS and PHP, especailly on the Wordpress platform. I'm a big fan of simple, pleasing aesthetics, optimized findability for search engines, and maximum usability.
- The Whats, Whys, and Hows of social media and social networking. The sites that make communication efficient and fun are not just a dumping ground for marketing materials. Let me show you how to present yourself on the web.
