José Miranda has experience across the full spectrum of information security, information systems security and information systems management. He has also an extensive experience in managing and coordinating technical teams, defining and following up the development and implementation of digital/e-strategies initiatives, and is member of several national and international Groups (UPU/Advanced Electronic Services, UPU/Electronic Postmark SG and Digital Alliance, among others).
In the last three years, José Miranda has actively participated in the specification and definition of the Portuguese eID and Electronic Passport projects (for the Government) and EMV-CAP Strong Authentication project (for the Portuguese Banks).
Relevant previous assignments include:
+ Managing and defining the strategy of technological companies (MULTICERT, since March 2002; Certipor, fully owned by MULTICERT, since August 2002);
+ Coordination and participation in technical and commercial Working Groups (Global Trust Authority, several locations in Europe, 1999 – 2002);
+ Analysis and coordination (CTT, Lisbon, and UPU Universal Postal Union, Bern, 2002 – 2003) of the research and development that led to the MDDE (Marca do Dia Electrónica) Electronic Postmark (EPM) online service, launched on the 15th September 2003. MDDE is the first EPM paid service worldwide that is being used on a daily basis by Portuguese lawyers –, protects the integrity of electronic mail (or data), through the use of auditable time stamps, digital signatures and hash codes.
+ Analysis and coordination (Portugal Telecom, 2004 – 2005) of the research and development that led to the Electronic Invoice (compliant with national legislation and with the EU 2001/115/CE directive) online service, available to all the clients of Portugal Telecom Group.
+ Project Manager of SIBS Internet Service Provider and responsible for the e-services (e-banking, ecommerce, …) made available by SIBS (1996 – 2002).
