Joseph Labrecque’s Summary

Joseph is currently employed by the University of Denver Center for Teaching and Learning as Senior Multimedia Application Developer. Primarily working with ActionScript 3.0, Flash, the Flex framework, and most recently Adobe AIR, Joseph is heavily involved in the Rich Internet Application landscape. Uniquely positioned with both designer and developer roles, he is considered by many to be a rich media expert. This experience is often put to use via an adjunct faculty position for the Digital Media Studies and Information and Communications Technology programs at DU.

Joseph is regularly involved in the development of both large and small projects across the university community. Some of the most noteworthy include the DU Portfolio Community, DU CourseMedia™ media delivery application, and VPS Projection System. Some smaller projects of note are the VidLoop media display application, Fridlyand kiosk software, and a number of varied media players.

Over the years, Joseph has worked in a variety of media including 35mm and digital photography, traditional art, and short films. His most well known personal endeavor is the experimental dark-ambient project “An early morning letter, displaced,” which celebrates a decade of existence in 2009.

Joseph is also the proprietor of Fractured Vision Media, a local digital media production house specializing in rich internet technologies, as well as more traditional website design. FVM also serves as a production and distribution vehicle for his many personal works.
