My mission is to change what people expect from data warehouses. When business users want to go beyond standard reporting and ask really useful questions of their data warehouse, responses like "We can't answer that question" or "getting the answer would take too long and cost too much" simply aren't acceptable.
Illuminate’s correlation database (CDBMS) data structure enables organizations to build data warehouses more quickly, at a lower cost and without the limitations of current data warehouse technologies. Most importantly, it enables business users to do true ad hoc analysis, asking any question their database can answer--without an IT project--and get the answer immediately.
My background includes more than 30 years in data warehousing and business intelligence R&D work in a variety of industries.
I write the Queries from Hell blog and present on data analysis topics at venues such as Business Intelligence forums and DAMA/Wilshire Meta-Data Conferences.
