SOI and the MDI Team are part of an international collaboration to study the interior structure and dynamics of the Sun. The MDI team was responsible for the design and fabrication, and now for the operation, of the MDI instrument on board the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft. Gravity Probe B is the relativity gyroscope experiment to test two extraordinary, unverified predictions of Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity.
