I worked with Stanford University, NASA, and other organizations on concept development, prototyping, astrophysics research, and emerging computer technologies. As the program manager for component reliability, I led a team of electrical and mechanical engineers in developing engineering analysis and laboratory test methods for component and part reliability. As the System Reliability Lead for the Gravity Probe B and the Michelson Doppler Imager (MDI), I led the system analysis, mathematical modeling and risk assessment efforts. SOI and the MDI Team are part of an international collaboration to study the interior structure and dynamics of the Sun. The MDI team was responsible for the design and fabrication, and now for the operation, of the MDI instrument on board the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft. Gravity Probe B is the relativity gyroscope experiment to test two extraordinary, unverified predictions of Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity.
