Chairman (Head) of the Design Department at the Universidad Iberoamericana
Mexico City Area, Mexico
Like many digital designers Jorge Meza discovered the medium - and drew his early inspiration - from the video games and TV shows of his childhood.
He studied Graphic Design at University Iberoamericana followed by an MFA in Visual Arts at the Academy of Fine Art “San Carlos”, both in Mexico City. After graduating from there in 1997, he went to Poland and studied Etching, Drawing and Poster Design for two years at the Academy of Fine Arts Jan Majteiko in Kraków. In 1998 he started working at the polish Advertising Agency Schulz (http://www.schulz.com.pl/), designing campaigns for Winiary (Nestlé), Pizza Hut, KFC and Carrefour. In 1999 he returned to Mexico City to open his own design studio, and projected web sites, digital animations, multimedia and visual communications for different Mexican clients.
In 2002 he became a full time professor at the Design Department of University Iberoamericana, where he has had a successful academic career in education, management and research, founding the Bachelor in Interactive Design in 2004: a new program that integrates information technologies, visual communication, interface design, programming, networks and multimedia concepts.
Last year he graduated from a Master in System Engineering and was designated chairman (Director) of the Design Department at the Universidad Iberoamericana.

Today is urgent to communicate, to all small and medium companies, that design is a core discipline in the innovation process. Designers are strategic and innovative professionals, capable to develop concepts, products and services for all types of firms.
In our Studio we apply a series of methods and information processes, from various disciplines, in order to determine the technologies, products and digital services that are demanded in the different enterprises, considering certain aspects connected with user and the market.
All companies need to get the benefits that Design and Information technologies can provide them in the analysis, development, implementation and communication of solutions and prospective ideas on new concepts (of products, services, environments, messages or systems); extremely necessary to compete successfully in global and local economies.
