Joost was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, graduated from Dartmouth College, did his graduate work at Harvard University and obtained a Master of Science at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) en 1976.

He started his career in Time-Life (Europe) in 1977. In 1982 he joined the Ogilvy & Mather Group, where for the next fourteen years he held management positions in South Africa, Germany, Spain and the UK (from where he and his multi-national team developed integrated communications strategies for some of the groups major Pan-European and worldwide clients)

Joost has resided in Spain for the last 18 years and considers Spain his adopted home. He speaks five languages, writes articles on integrated communications, and is a sought after teacher, trainer and speaker at Conferences and Congresses around the world.

He was recently voted the most influential person in Spanish Direct & Interactive Marketing.
